Integration
What Is Cartonization Integration? Connecting WMS and E-Commerce Systems

“Cartonization integration” means connecting packing decisions to your software stack programmatically. The goal is for WMS, OMS, or e-commerce platforms to receive a consistent, repeatable pack plan for every order.
What does integration provide?
Typical flow: define product dimensions and a box library (or send inline data with the order), the engine produces a 3D plan, and the result flows to WMS pack stations or e-commerce fulfillment.
The plan includes package count, box types, placement coordinates, fill rate, leftovers, and warnings. Explainability increases packer trust.
WMS integration
Triggered at wave release or pack-station open. The same order queried again should return an idempotent result; invalid product references should return clear error codes.
WiCartonize stays packing-focused; labels, tracking, and carrier rate shopping are outside MVP scope.
E-commerce integration
Used before fulfillment for package-count estimates, cost projection, and operations planning.
For Shopify, an embedded pack plan in Admin enables visual validation without CSV exports.
Master data is optional
You can pack with stored product IDs or inline length/width/height on the line. Both can appear in one request. Invalid IDs must never be silently reinterpreted.

Is an API required, or is UI enough?
UI may be enough for a Shopify brand or single warehouse; WMS and multi-channel operations usually need integration.
How long does integration take?
Depends on data-model clarity; a pilot order set can go live in weeks.
