Real 3D Packing Engine for Cartonization
Cartonization is never “add up the cube.” WiCartonize’s 3D packing engine places every item with collision-aware geometry, container bounds, and deterministic scoring so packers get plans they can trust.
What production cartonization requires
A shipping plan must answer more than “which box is biggest.” The engine evaluates legal orientations, bounding-box collisions, inner container bounds, per-carton weight limits, and when to split into multiple packages.
Leftovers are explicit: items that cannot be placed are returned for ops review instead of silently dropped.
- Extreme-point / free-space style placement heuristics
- Multiple item orderings and box candidates
- Deterministic scoring for repeatable plans
- Millimeter coordinates for pack-station instructions
Why volume math fails in the warehouse
Summing SKU volumes and picking the smallest box that fits the total fails when products are rigid, orientation-locked, or awkwardly shaped. Two items that fit on paper may collide in 3D.
Real placement reduces overrides at the pack bench and improves fill rate without guessing.
Explainable outcomes
Every plan includes utilization, package count, warnings, and placement detail. Teams can see why a carton won—not just its name.
Pair the engine with the Packing Inspector for visual verification before labels print.
Is this a carrier or rate-shopping engine?
No. WiCartonize focuses on package geometry and packing logic, not labels or carrier rates.
Does it support multiple boxes per order?
Yes. The engine evaluates splits when a single carton is not the best fit.
